Three ways we can work together

Find the direction

Values, strengths and the work you lose track of time doing. We turn a vague "something else" into two or three options you can name.

Test it cheaply

Informational interviews, a short course, a weekend shift, a side project. Small experiments before you hand in your notice.

Make the move

Your story for a new field, a money runway, the conversation with your partner, and the first ninety days in the new role.

What it costs

Paid monthly or up front. No contracts longer than three months at a time.

Discovery call30 minutes, to see if we clickFree
Single session60 minutes, video or in person$180
Three-month programSix sessions, worksheets, email between calls$1,350

Two reduced-fee places at $95 a session for people between jobs. Ask if one is open.

Coaching isn't covered by health insurance. Some employers pay for it from a training budget, and I can send an invoice your manager will recognize.

Where we meet

A bright loft room with a gray sofa, a round coffee table and two people talking by tall windows
The shared studio on Fore Street.
An open notebook with handwritten notes and a silver fountain pen resting on the page
You keep a notebook. I keep the questions.

Where and when

In person

212 Fore Street, Portland, in a shared studio on the second floor with an elevator. Metered parking on the street, or the Fore Street garage. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

By video

Anywhere in the US, Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm Eastern. Clients so far from Bangor, Brunswick, Boston, Denver and Seattle.

What coaching isn't

Coaching is not therapy.I don't diagnose or treat depression, anxiety or trauma. If you're struggling to get through the day, a therapist is the right first call, and I'm glad to work alongside one. In a crisis, call or text 988.
  • Resume writing or job placement. I'll refer you to people who do it well.
  • Legal or financial advice about leaving a job.
  • Business coaching for founders and companies.

From former clients

"Eleven years of teaching, and I couldn't picture anything else. Eight months later I'm an instructional designer and I still like Sunday nights."Ruth · South Portland
"She made me test the bakery idea with Saturday shifts first. It saved me from a very expensive mistake, and pointed me at the thing I really wanted."Dev · Brunswick
"Practical, warm and allergic to vague answers. Exactly what a burned-out lawyer needed."Claire · Boston, by video
