For Apple Silicon Macs with a notch

Your notch, but make it a 1979 hi-fi.

NotchDeck turns the dead space around your camera into a glowing retro LCD — now playing, system stats, calendar, timers. Amber tubes. Green phosphor. All the warmth, none of the dust.

System vitals

CPU, RAM, network throughput — rendered as needles, bars, or a glowing seven-segment readout.

⏱

Pomodoro & timers

A countdown that ticks down in the notch instead of stealing your menubar space.

▤

Next meeting

Pulls from Calendar. Title and minutes-until, scrolling Marquee-style when you need to look up.

$

Tickers

Stocks, crypto, FX. Configurable refresh. Red glow when red.

⚙

Custom widgets

Write a 20-line shell script that prints a line. NotchDeck displays it. That's the whole API.

Four built-in themes.

More coming. Or build your own with a TOML file.

FAQ.

Does it work on Macs without a notch?
Yes. It renders a floating widget in the same spot. Slightly less magical, still nice.
Will it eat my battery?
Negligibly. Refresh is throttled and animations pause when you're on battery and idle.
Price?
Planning a one-time purchase, somewhere in the £15–25 range. No subscription. No telemetry.
Open source?
The widget runtime, yes. The app itself, no.
