Jake Labieniec — The Portfolio

Pulled this morning from CMS and Granola, read through the account lens again, because that's the job. Two more offers landed Monday and the book is spread across fifteen live accounts. No single client can make or break the month, and two or three are carrying it. The relationship layer is doing exactly what it's supposed to. Numbers live as of ~10:30am ET.

Off the top

Belated congrats on the baptism finally going ahead after the eye scare turned out to be nothing, that's the call you want from a doctor even if it costs two hours in a waiting room. Hope Lia survived stage duty with the seventeen-pound baby, four points of contact and all. Good to be back in the rhythm of these.

02 · THE BOARDWalking the accounts
GablesProperty Manager
HotThe busiest search on your desk. Asia Humes interviewed, Joshua Pace and James Beecham interview today, Elizabeth Hopp is out, four more in reserve. The Barbabosa side letter (Vita Tysons and Westbrooke, buy-one-50%-off through year-end) is the lever to keep this account expanding.
B.HOMMaint Sup / GM
Cornerstone. Maintenance Supervisor wave moving (Noah Morgan and Anthony Wright out, Sean Collett and Joe Mora interviewing). The GM is still open and the higher fee, closing soon. Monica Devlin's PM started last month.
TRG MgmtAM / Maint / RSC
Wall it offYour biggest live headcount, nine in process. Recruiting is humming. Keep it walled off from the Invoice 2932 dispute so the billing conversation doesn't chill the desk that's actually producing.
Core SpacesCM / CLM + ownership
Close itJacqueline Brown and Regan Jasper out on Community Manager; Kayla Moccia through a third round on the CLM. The ownership conversation landed: Felix is on board with the candidates being ours and wants something to take to his VP. Get him the recent-applications carve-out doc (the RHP / CCI framing) so it closes clean.
ArticlePM / Sr PM / NOS
Breakout account. Jennifer Spiess won; Emmanuel Fasuyi is deep on the Sr PM seat; Pam Haynes on NOS. Keep feeding it while it's hot, this is the one that spiked from nowhere.
WeidnerArea Director
Marquetta won. Demond Tate is through a third round, a possible second seat on the same req.
GoldOllerService / Regional Mgr
Chris Redmond won. Regional Manager in Richmond still working (Michele Greene out, Elizabeth Smith-Brown approved). Account is warming, good moment to deepen.
TCBMaintenance Tech
Six techs out for approval. The 52-placement history against one active search is the expansion you flagged; the scraper cross-reference is how that gets switched back on.
UP / Peak / Spaces / RPMMaint Sup, LM, APM
Each one or two deep into interviews: Sean Dillon and Marquise Guesby (UP), Mitchell Johnson (PeakMade, third round), Caroline Mlaska and Niah Barton (Spaces), Rasha Mansour (RPM). Smaller, but live and worth the touch.
Asset LivingCM / AM
PendingThe watch flag was really pending decisions, not trouble, and you were right that a lot is going well. Mikenzie accepted; Community Manager candidates in reserve.
YES CommunitiesFree placement
Back to the free placement after the field manager and the CM candidate didn't land. Luke's feedback is nothing but positive. Find the next role to spend that credit on and keep the hook set.
Eden HousingRevive
Money pitThe trouble spot. Heavy spend, thin engagement, but the client is still posting on LinkedIn, so it's live. Don't buy another posting. Have Claude rerun the couple-hundred existing leads and point Joanne's outbound at it.
03 · OPERATINGThreads carried forward
Delegate without going dark
You're pushing work to Rob and Andre, that's right. The next layer is naming the specific thing that needs doing and offering to hop in, the way you did on the Pacific Northwest job where a small thing looked big until someone showed it was quick. Go far together.
Spend discipline, not less spend 2.5x
Ad spend is up roughly 2.5x. The fix isn't spending less, it's wasting less: GPT prompts that are too tight generate leads that go nowhere, and we hunt for perfect instead of shaping good-enough. The guardrail forming, every job gets the 48 to 72 hour premium post plus a sourcing bot and 30 matches before anyone asks to spend more. Job debriefs at close are where the leaks surface. And the data attribution needs fixing so lead sources actually track.
Keep the new-work funnel open
A lot came in naturally and it's slowed. Block time this week to actively shake more loose. Every active client is worth it, B.HOM and Article both spiked from nowhere, and the next one is out there.
Bring Joanne in
Loop her into the Eden Housing maintenance-tech outbound Monday and the 848 Mitchell call early in the week. You flagged you'd blanked on it, so it's first on the list.
Rob
You met. Asset needs client-side attention, candidates aren't the problem there. His calendar block is being unblocked in the mornings so the outreach he's paying for has somewhere to land.
04 · THIS WEEKAction items
The Portfolio is doing what a portfolio should: no single account can sink the month, and a few are carrying it. Keep delegating without disappearing, keep the spend pointed at good-enough-and-shape-it, and this is a very good June. Enjoy the back half of the week.
